The Surrey Poultry Society meetings are a great way for new and old poultry keepers to meet and swap stories, tips and advice.
What’s On
Learn how to prepare your poultry, how to fill out entry forms, what happens and procedures to follow at shows and a brief guide to other shows to look out for up and down the country.
Spring Show - 6th February
AGM - 1st March AGM followed by a hatching egg and general sale.
Finding a good breeder - 12th April A talk on the pitfalls to avoid, where to find the right breeder and how to breed/hatch your own.
An introduction to Ducks & Geese - 10th May Guest speaker Colin Murton.
Surrey County Show - 31st May
Health - 7th June Back by popular demand to help you keep your brood happy and healthy.
BBQ - July Visit to a members home to see their birds followed by a BBQ
No meeting - August
Chickens in the Garden - 6th September Keen Gardner and poultry keeper Aaron Baker will discuss how to combine keeping poultry and a pleasant garden at the same time, with creative ideas for planting schemes, and discussions of what plants are chicken-proof.
